In this Cc 101 for Admins guide, we’ll talk about how to offer quick coaching feedback, right where your teachers plan. So that you can finally complete all of your observation walkthroughs—with time to spare.

Pre-work: This guide assumes that you have created a school, added all teachers and admins and created teams, if necessary. You’ll also want to be sure that your teachers have created their own planbooks and have started planning lessons. If you haven’t done that, take a look at our Cc for Admins video on Account Set-Up to get started.

In this guide, we’ll focus on how to:

  1. Access every teacher’s planbook

  2. Check for plan completion(navigate from week to week)

  3. Add and reply to comments

To get started, log into your Cc account and click the home icon in the top left corner of your screen. This will allow you to see all of your planbooks for the current year, as well as the schools of which you are a part.

To review your teachers’ plans, find the name of your school in the right column and click “Go to School.” This will allow you to see all of your teachers and their planbooks in one place.

By default, when a teacher is invited to your school account, their planbook is automatically shared with all members of the school. This means that you can simply click the planbook title to view its contents. For more information on how to manage sharing settings, check out the help article “Sharing your Planbook"

When clicking into a teacher’s planbook, you will automatically see the current week of plans. I can see every lesson, every class, as well as all of their attached materials. If I want to check for plan completion for the previous week—or for next week— I can do so by using the date picker. Or by simply clicking the back or forward arrows.

Once we’ve found a lesson for which we’d like to provide feedback, we can hover over any component of a lesson and click the conversation bubble, where it says “Add a Comment.” We’ll add a comment, maybe something like: “This is a broad objective; what if we split it into two smaller objectives?”

This sends a notification email to the teacher, letting them know that I have left a comment on their lesson plan. From here, they can navigate to the comment in their planbook, hover over the comment and click “Reply to Comment.” Their reply will then send an email notification right back to me.

By unifying all teachers and their plans—as well as providing a means for quick lesson feedback—Cc finally offers a way for admins to complete their observation walkthroughs, while ensuring teachers get the support they need, right where they need it.”
