Starting the Copy Process
On your homepage, this is where you're going to copy your plan book for next year. So what you wanna do is just click that copy plan book button.
So when you click that, you're going to see your plan books for, all the years that you have been planning with CC. So if you wanted to go back and copy a plan book way back in twenty twelve, twenty thirteen, if you were with us then, you could do that if you wanted to. You could go back and click twenty twelve, twenty thirteen. And if you have plan books, they will show up.
So all the plan books you've ever had, you'll be able to copy that if you want to. Okay. I'm gonna go back to my twenty four twenty five. So these are my plan books for this current school year, and I want to copy this elementary plan book.
Reviewing Classes to Copy
So I'm gonna click on that, and then you'll see all your classes that you have in that plan book. You'll also see those parts of your plans that you don't make lesson plans for. So when you were setting up your plan book and you were adding in classes and you also had the option to add in parts of your day that you don't write lessons for, that also pops up. So these four, I have lessons in.
This one is just my before school to do's.
So if you want to copy over those parts of your plan book, you can. But it's also gonna copy in the text that you have for those. So the before school to dos, like, on a Monday, you know, I might have had call Emily's parents or send Sam's grandpa an email or, you know, make copies of the Emancipation Proclamation. So I might have had those, like, to dos that were specific to that day.
So if you want to copy those over into your new plan book, for me, I wouldn't do that personally because my to do list for next year is gonna be different. So I wouldn't copy that over. I would just add that in after. But I definitely want to copy all of my classes over.
But if there is a class that you know you're not teaching next year, you can just unselect it, and then it won't copy over. I'm gonna copy all of them, so I'm gonna hit next, And then you can give your new plan book a title.
Just put new, so throw it in whatever you want in there. You can also edit this later.
Confirming Planbook Details
Hit next, and, yes, copy the lessons and units.
And then you just want to confirm everything. So, yep, looks good. I want to create my plan book. But if there's something here that's off, you can just go back, and then you can unselect classes if you actually don't want those in there or rename it, but you can also do that in your settings too.
Adjusting Your Schedule
So it looks good. Create my plan book, and then it's gonna bring you to this screen. And what you wanna do is before you copy the lessons, you wanna make sure your schedule is right. So I'm gonna hit next.
So this is a schedule of that plan book, but if you know your schedule is different, maybe your writing workshop, you know that's gonna be at the end of the day after science, you can go ahead and move that around now.
But also know that your schedule, you can also move it around later in your settings button. So whatever you do here at this step, it's not set in stone.
Choosing School Year Start Date
Okay. So I'm gonna hit next, and then this is where you pick out where you want the lessons to show up. So you can choose the same day as before. So it started on the fourth Monday in August.
So this year, that day is Monday, August twenty fifth. But if it's not that day, you can select a different date. And let's say, I know that next school year is going to start on Tuesday, August twenty sixth. So you can click that, and then next, and then, yep, copy the lessons over.
Lessons Copied
Now all my lessons are copied.
So now all of my lessons are copied over.
It's for the new school year, and everything is there. Like, you click through, all your lesson plans are there. They're completely editable for the new year. And any of those things that we did to set up your plan book, if you go to settings and you need to change the order, you can do that here. You can update your schedule. If you have a different class to add, just go ahead and add that in.
Editing Events and Days Off
Let's say you even accidentally clicked the wrong start date or maybe you don't know yet when the next school year starts, it could be a possibility. You could always edit that too. So you can go to settings, and if you click on events, this is where you can edit the school year. So So if you need to do that, you can do that here too. And then another thing to note is that your events and days off that from your plan book that you copied from, those don't copy over. So you'll want to add in your events and days off for the new year. You can add those in here, or, of course, you can do that from, you know, your day menu too.
Okay. So then if I just go back to my home page, you can see that that plan book is there for the twenty five, twenty six school year.
When to Import Lessons Instead of Copying Your Planbook
Alright. So that is pretty much it. It's pretty simple to copy your plan book. One thing I wanna note is that if you don't want to copy your plan book for next year, maybe, you know, you know, you're teaching almost all different classes, your schedule is totally different, and you think it's just better to start fresh and something new, if you wanna do that, all you do just create your plan book. But then know that if you want to import lessons from previous plan books, you can always do that too. Let's see. Just go to your lesson menu, and then you can import lessons and units from a previous playbook, if that sounds like a better option for you.
