Add or Remove Standards to a Lesson

Written by Scott Ames-Messinger

Add Standards to a Lesson Plan

1. In your lesson template, you can add standards to any card. Use the "+" to the right when you hover to get to the Add Menu. From there, click on "Standards" under the "Tag" heading.

2. Once taken to this screen, select your state, organization, or school & district.

Shows the selection of state or organization for standards.

3. Depending on which you select, you will be taken step by step through what standards you are looking for based on the location of your school and the subject that you are teaching.

4. For example, if you are looking at Maryland Mathematics for Grade 1, you will be presented with a list of standards options. To add a standard, press the + button to the left of the standard. You can add as many or as few standards as you need.

5. When you are done adding your standards, click the "Close and return to lesson" button at the top of the page. Then you will see that your standards have been added to your lesson!

Remove Standards from a Lesson

  1. To remove standards from a lesson, simply hover over the standard and click the trash icon to the right, and it will be deleted!

You can change standards for a lesson or class at any time, just remove the current standards and add new ones.

View Two or More Sets of Standards

  1. Go to the lesson card that you would like to add a standard too and click "+Add" then Tag "Standards" again.

  2. Select which standards you want to add. Then, click "Side-by-Side View" on the right side of your screen.

3. You will get to choose another set of standards the same way.

4. Select which standards you would like to see side-by-side.

For example, you might want to see the Danielson Teaching Framework standards used for evaluation and the Geography standards for your state and grade level side-by-side.

5. You can keep adding standard sets to see all at once by clicking the Side-by-Side View again and again.
