Getting Started

To create a new planbook, you have to be on your home screen in Common Curriculum. To get to your home screen, just click the house button at the top left of the page. If nothing happens when you do that, then you're already in the right place!

To get started:

  1. Go to your homescreen

  2. Click "Create a Planbook"

  3. Choose "Create a New Planbook"

  4. Give your new planbook a title and select a school year

Customize your planbook for your schedule:

After you title and select the year for your planbook, you will be asked what type of schedule you have.

  • Select "Weekly" if you have a weekly schedule

  • Select "A/B/etc Schedule" if you have an A/B or other type of rotating schedule

    • You can then customize the rotation to fit your needs!

Shows "What are your rotations or cycles" page and options on planbook setup page.

How to tell if you need a rotating schedule?

If your school is using a new schedule this year and you're not sure if you need to create a planbook with a weekly or a rotating schedule, then ask yourself the following question:

Will I have the same schedule every Monday?

  • Yes - Then you need to create a planbook with a weekly schedule

  • No - Then you need to create a planbook with a rotating schedule

What if I have "A Days" and "B Days" but they're always the same days of the week?

Good question! You're probably still using a weekly schedule. We've noticed some districts implementing schedules where certain groups of students come in some days of the week and other groups of students come in other days of the week. The same rule applies in these situations. For example, if your schedule looks like this:

  • Monday - A Day

  • Tuesday - B Day

  • Wednesday - Off

  • Thursday - A Day

  • Friday - B Day

Then you really have a weekly schedule. You might say you have an A Day schedule, but it's really just a Monday/Thursday schedule.

Once you've selected your schedule type click "Create My Planbook!" and your planbook has been created! Now you can begin setting up and customizing your planning experience!

IMPORTANT: Make sure you select the right school year before going to the next step. You won't be able to change the school year of a planbook once it's been created.
