Add Standards to a Lesson Plan

1. In your lesson card click on "Search & Add Standards"

Shows a standards card and an arrow to the Search & Add Standards button.

2. Once taken to this screen, select your state, organization, or school & district.

Shows the selection of state or organization for standards.

3. Depending on which you select, you will be taken step by step through what standards you are looking for based on the location of your school and the subject that you are teaching.

4. For example, if you are looking at Maryland Mathematics for Grade 1, you will be presented with a list of standards options. To add a standard, press the button to the left of the standard. You can add as many or as little standards that you need.

Shows example standards and an arrow indicating the button to press to add a standard.

5. When you are done adding your standards, click the "Close and return to lesson" button at the top of the page. Then you will see that your standards have been added to your lesson!

Shows what your standards will look like when selected and how to close out of that screen.

Remove Standards from a Lesson

  1. To remove standards from a lesson, simply hover over the standard and click the trash icon to the right, and it will be deleted!

Shows how to delete a standard from a card.

To change standards for a lesson or class you can remove the current standards and add new ones OR you can select "Search & Add Standards" under the standard you would like to change and deselect it, and select the standard you wish to add.

View Two or More Sets of Standards

  1. Go to the lesson plan that you would like to add a standard too and click "Search & Add Standards"

  2. Select which standards you want to add. Then, click "Side-by-Side View" on the right side of your screen.

Shows how to view standards side by side.

3. Select which standards you would like to compare.

For example, you might want to compare the SAT Reading and Writing skills standards with the English Language Arts standards for your state.
